My '55 Chevy Build-Off Project

i'm in a build-off on another forum and i
thought i'd show what i'm going to build
and explain the rules.

all the women (yes, i said women) and
guys who want to participate in this build-off
MUST find a picture of car art. the build MUST
be IDENTICAL to the art. the builds AND the
art MUST NOT be newer than '69.

while lookin through pages of art,
i found a '55 Chevy post that is a
Gasser. it is dark blue with a 409 4sp.

the kit that i bought has NO speed parts
whatsoever so i had to buy a donor kit also.
i also have a pair of Hildebrand slots from
the Winged Express and a pair of American
5-spokes but i was told i MUST use Pie crusts
(i have these). all i need now is a set of chrome
409 valve covers.



this is the donor kit. i got it for $10.00 tax
and shipping included because it had no body
in it.

the build-off starts Sept. 1st and ends May
1st. maybe, just maybe, i'll be able to finish
it in the allotted time.

Full steam ahead (wheres my whip) You`ll do fine set everything else aside and concentrate on this and when yo`ure done you can give me tips to build my 55 sedan and 55 wagon

i thought about postin a picture of
the art that i found. i have a pen and ink
and the color picture. i think i'll post both
of them so, here ya go.

there has been a bit of a change on my Gasser.
i forgot to mention that everything is molded in.
it bugs me when this is done. i could cut everything
from the chassis but, i'd have to build a completely
new interior tub so, why not the chassis AND the
tub ?

i'm using .125in. 3.2X3.2 mm Evergreen. it looks like
there's a tube chassis under it anyway. you can
see in my 'bucket in the top left picture that i've
started the new frame. i'm also going to build a
new framework for the interior tub and line it
with aluminum. i have a set of chrome valve
covers AND oil pan that a friend from the
contest sent me.

You still need the value covers I thing I still have a set

I like the stock ones better so I was Alcad on them in stead of using the chrome ones with the fins

covers and matching oilpan. i
want to stay exactly true to
this build and, that's why i
have them. i also have a set
of the unpainted covers but
i didn't want to use them.

Duane is this build for crazyricks board? He kicked me off because I said I didn't like the way the board was going and didn't build that type of stuff . So he kicked me out of the truck off and the board can't even go there to see whats being posted

this Gasser build is for TRaK.

i'm on sa and a guy there jumped
me for not postin any finished any
finished builds. he also said that
all i wanted was to have my status
raised. he jumped me very hard TWICE!!!!!
in my post, i asked him to IM me and take
the crap out of the forum (i knew who the
guy was).

he and i are also members at mcm.
i posted a kit for a build-off at sa
on mcm's forum. i went back the next
day and when i tried to sign in, i kept
getting a banned notice. one of the
adminstrators is a member of sa also
and he'd sent me a PM telling why i
was banned. he said the member told
him that i am a trouble maker. he
wanted to hear what i had to say
and MAYBE he'd let me back in at mcm.
he also said this other member is a fine,
upstanding member at mcm. i told him
nothing.

i was talking to another member from sa;
we were on IM . he suddenly said that he'd
received an email from the guy who had me
banned. it said: i bet you hate my guts now,
don't you ? the guy who had me banned is nuts.
