i just got this today. it's going to be a Drag Truck with a Ross Gibson BBC and several other goodies. i have a couple of ideas for it that might twist your crank but they will be something that you have to see to appreciate. i'll keep you all updated with the progress of this beast.

ok, i'll post what i have. i've made a little progress but now i have to buy the engine that i want to use. i need it for my mockup as well. there will be a different frame under it, so i'll have to decide what i have to do to build it.

Why not just tub this floor and paint it Alum. ?? Or find a wooden floor from an old truck kit

i thought about doing that Scott. it will be tubbed but, for the look i'm after and, the rims and tires that i want to use; the stock bed floor won't work. i'm after a lightweight look and one that is very racy. this build and any other that i do will not have donk rims and tires either because i don't like donks.

Duane, Nice start what about a floor and wheel tubs scratch built out of plastic thread plate material? That might look good Could drill lightrning holes in places too maybe? I dunno You have any of those "donk" wheels/tires you don`t want? Let me know George

George how big of wheels you looking for . I may have some . I was thinking about melting them down as a way to show what I think of donks.
I know I have the set from the Cady truck and some frome the 66 nova not sure if those are big enough for donks

Duane use Styren and then paint it with Alum. I use medicne bottles for wheel tubs. Check out the pictures of my 55 chevy truck here on this board for ideas

George, i've got donk rims and tires up the wazoo and if you want them, you got them !!!!! i love the look of drag race cars and street rods and '40's-'50's customs only. i have NEVER liked donks or Sewer Dwelling Mammal rods !!! they don't look safe to me.
a custom floor in the bed is what i want to do with this build. i have a wild idea to incorporate so this truck will have a strictly race look to it. a friend of mine suggested a chop but, it will ruin the "look" and "feel" that i'm after.
Scott, that's EXACTLY what i'm doing to this truck !!!! i want this truck to look as if every body panel is made from aluminum.

Duane don't use the color place paint from Wal Mart for the Alum. It is way to Bright silvery
