Although I love CanAms, my main interest is in pre- and postwar European race cars, up to about 1970. I also like the less extreme teardrop Bugattis, Delahayes, etc., but kits are hard to find. Most of the cars I like are only available in resin, so I build in resin. I've been building only 1:43, but have just gotten a 1:24 Island Collectibles Ferrari 330P Sebring kit. I'm pretty excited about building that.
I am fairly new to this sort of modeling, so I've been taking it slow and experimenting with different methods and materials. I've made - and corrected - an enormous number of mistakes. But things are smoothing out, and I'm making fewer mistakes and working much faster.
My goal is to build the perfect model: perfect paint; clean build; 1:1 proportions; authentic materials (leather, aluminum etc.) wherever possible. In other words, indistinguishable from the real thing in a high-resolution photograph.
